Live each day to the Fullest 30 March 2008

Regular readers here would know that I blog only once a week now, usually Sunday. I know some of you guys are eager to read what my next post would be. But well, life ain't that interesting you know, when you have to work 5 days a week, 0800 to 1730. I haven't been going out much. Even on saturdays and sundays unless someone wanna ask me out. =D Trying to save some cash up as well. And for most reasons, savings become nothings after awhile. ha. Well, the cash goes into dilema. I have been thinking on what to do with them.

Here are some of the possiblities:
1. Leave it there, do nothing about it, save it for a rainy day.
2. Save up more and when the time is ripe, do some investments with it like Unit Trusts and perhaps, some stocks.
3. Get all the camera accesories, bags, lenses I want. ha. of course, that will cost me a big bomb. (i'm trying to save for a D300 which I know it's quite impossible unless I win some 4D or TOTO, knowing the way my money comes and goes these days. ha)
4. Save up more for my driving license.
5. Go on a shopping spree. ha.

As you can see, with limited cash, and loads of things I wanna get, it's quite impossible. ha. O well, I guess I will have to start working when schools starts. And if you guys have friends, relatives or anyone that needs a photographer. Please introduce them to me or me to them. It would be GREATLY APPRECIATED. Schools, companies, organisations, magazines, newspapers, reviews, forums websites, anything! ha. If you know anyone that needs a photographer for weddings especially, let me know yea. Trying to update my portfolio. Sometimes I wonder how long more can I shoot for before stepping onto that island filled with hairless people. ha. I'm just so scared my passion will die out the moment NS changes everything.

Finally bought my new phone as well. =D Sony Ericsson K850i, 5MP. Pretty good I must say, a zillion times better than using Nokia. doesnt lag at all. And that's perhaps what I'm happy about. It's also a good thing that I could sell off my N73 for $260 and trade in my dead 6280 for a $100. =D leaving me to pay only $38. =D I'm a happy guy now. Let's just hope it will never ever crank up. It certainly is cool, having the latest silver coloured lines around the phone. The only bad thing would be having prints all over the phone because it's surface is shiny everywhere. Shall post some pictures taken using it soon...

Work starts again tomorrow. Boring... I want some challange in life. One big challange is financing. ha. O well... haven't been able to shoot much. And yesterday, staying at home the entire day, I decided to just take a walk downstairs, to see if I could capture anything. And here....

Remember, they're all here. =D FLICKR
Feel free to link my flickr on your blog/web/forum. Would be greatly appreciated. =D

That's all for now. Stay tuned.

Majong is often referred to as dry swimming. And that's because the action of shuffling the cards is just like the way you move when you swim. Well, guess what. I literally when mahjong swimming today. haha. Sorry but no pics, being too engrosed with the game. ha. Well, I went MJ swimming at Aaron's house together with rachel. And by MJ swimming, I mean playing MJ in the pool while swimming. haha. Unable to comprehand? Try again. ha. It's just totally fun. PLus totally good exercise with the forfeits we had. I must say it's totally a good way to have fun and exercise. Totally exhausted after that. And that's just my day.

Live each day to the Fullest 16 March 2008

It's sunday and work starts once again tomorrow. At least it's a four day week week this week due to good friday. This brand new week at my new work place, ST Logistics (Army Logistics Base) has been a rather interesting one. It certainly is completely different from my previous work place in terms of environment, people and FOOD! I totally believe that we should be contented with what we have in the first place because something new may not always mean something better.

Waking up at 630am this whole week really irks me, having only waking up at 730 when I was working at Bushido. Reaching work at 740am when work starts at 8 makes no sense, This is because the bus picks us up at 730am at CCK. What's more, I have to wait for my supervisor to come in order to get into the room cos I'm in the same room as her. Less than a metre apart. How cool can that be. I cant surf the net at leisure or go online. Stuck with work all day, looking foward to lunch and home constantly. O well, what's my job scope? Well, previously I was doing AR(accounts receivable) at Bushido. And now... I'm in the finance department doing what? Accounts Payable. ha. how cool can things get. Everything is accouting. Maybe I should switch to some accounting course instead of supply chain soon. ha. O well. Enough of work.

Saturday was spent doing a shoot at sembawang park. Thank God for the really good weather after raining for days. But sadly, I'm not too happy with the end product. Doesn't seem to good to me. Or would I say not up to my standards. Or perhaps, I've become so rusty after not shooting for ages. So many images were blur. I guess my hands are shaky now? ha. Partly due to the fact that I was also standing right on top of a ladder, bending down, and shooting. It ain't easy. My hands, legs, and back are aching now.

Then it was home to rest, and then out to Siti's House for her son's 1 year old birthday party. Well, I volunteered to be the camera guy again. ha. I didn't tell her before hand, but I guess it was good timing cos no one else had a camera on hand. The food was really great too! Stayed till 10 odd and her parents sent me home. Saved cab fare. ha.

For your information people out there and too my friends as well, especially to those that know that I'm a photographer. A photographer provides his/her services at professional standards. I don't believe people actually bargain for cheaper rates. I mean if you certainly want to bargain for cheaper rates, my suggestion would be use your own camera and take them yourself. That way, you'll certainly save alot. Marriage is once in a life time thing (maybe not now) and if you aren't even willing to spend that little bit more, why bother finding a photographer in the first place? It certainly pisses me off that people put my skills to a compromise on pricing.

Teenage sex has led to many early marriages and as a result led to many divorces. If you have read today's Sunday Times, the muslim community has infact made muslim marriages legal at the age of 18 instead of 16 previously. Why get married so early in the first place? I don't believe young people don't regret marrying so early because one thing for sure, they haven't had their fair share of fun. What's more, their puny brains haven't awaken to the rising of this cruel, harsh and real society. Their thinking are simply just too imature, and too, they lack the responsibility parents have to face. This is life people. Think twice before starting a family because consequences are real, they aren't a fairytale.

I shall just stop here. I know I won't be able to blog very often now due to work that really burns me off. phew....

Live each day to the Fullest 07 March 2008

Work ended at 1 today. Finally over there. =D Went out looking for a location for next week's shoot after that. And I walked from Sembawang to Admiralty. I wonder how many kilometres is that. ha. Was trying to find some stuff to shoot along the way. At least you see more than taking transport around.
Some of my favourites today. Shall post more soon. I know I always say I'll post them but more keeps coming in. ha. So just check them out at my flickr =D

I shall just update some stuff now before I get too lazy to post again. ha.

I thought of getting a new wallet, but instead, I did a makeover for my almost a decade old wallet. ha. It's leather that's why it can last. And if you can see the difference in black. the darker one is the part I painted with leather paint. A freaking tiny bottle, and I mean tiny cost about 7-10 bucks. Well, adding to my crystal collection, I added some crystals in as well. ha.

And yesterday night, I decided to try the thought I have been having for quite awhile. And that is to make my flash movable when I shoot potrait and landscape so that there wouldn't be a harsh shadow. And.... tadah!

I actually used the connection point that is to be screwed onto the shoe to be mounted onto the tripod to mount my flash instead. But of couse, this can only be done to my 70-200mm VR that has that turning point. Smart eh. ha. I simply love the set up. =D

CHeeRs =D

It's coming to an end... Just 1 more day at Bushido X'prez and it's down to ST Logistics to continue with my attatchment. Feeling happy yet sad at the same time. Posted to the finance department!!! O my, it's more financing for me. I myself need some financing. haha. O well...

Had our so called 'class gathering' today at newton food centre. ok, it's group gathering. that would be the first and last time I am so gonna eat there. the moment we entered, countless hawkers were touting. Telling us where to sit, what we wanted to drink, what we were 'supposed' to eat. Totally irritating. Even after we ordered drinks and food they still kept coming. I just so wonder how they do business there when there's no variety and everyone is practically selling the same thing. SEAFOOD. If not it was satay or chicken wings or oyster omelette or hokkien mee. All the usual stuff. And so, there was nothing much to choose from. And so here's what Rachel and I shared:

Oyster Omelete, not too bad pretty good. $5.00. I give it 3.5/5 Kinda a little spicy cos I think something spicy was cooked before that and they did not clean the wok

Hokkien Mee, what I like going around to try. I can conclude that hokkien mee without pork doesn't taste just as great. $4.00 I give it 2.5/5 (being a person that eats it all the time) Prawns not peeled, not fresh. Sotong overcooked/not fresh.

Chicken satay. Not too bad. can tell that it's somehow not the usual satay we eat. Could taste the spices used in it but the sauce ain't that good and the meat ain't very tender. I give it 2.5/5 $0.50 a stick.

Well, we had fun talking about our work experience and all, and I believe we all had a good time after not meeting each other for 1 month. Really enjoyed myself as well.

It's the last day tomorrow. =D
